Who can participate?

Student profile: local and international

The Barcelona Program for Interdisciplinary Studies (BaPIS) has been designed to satisfy the expectations of students with a good academic standing, inquisitive mind and intellectual curiosity.

The program is open to all UPF undergraduate students and to undergraduate students from other universities interested in advancing in their studies and obtaining credits by taking innovative courses at UPF.

Admission requirements:

  • When applying, students should be Junior (3rd year), Senior (4th year) or Junior Standing (having completed 60 to 90 credits).
  • Good academic standing (3.0 GPA, 7 out of 10 or a B+).
  • A good command of the language of instruction of the course.

Application

UPF students who meet the admission requirements can enrol at BaPIS courses (*) as part of the academic offering of Credits de Formació Transversal de Lliure Elecció (FTLE), and following the regular procedures to register in FTLE courses. The  enrolment in the BaPIS for the Winter 24 edition will be on November 29 & 30, along with the enrolment changes for the 2023-24 academic year. 

(*) UPF students from the Degree of International Business Economics can only enrol in courses taught in English

Please, note that course spots are limited and filled up on a first-come, first-served basis. 

The online application period for non-UPF students is:

Fall term - From March 1st to May 30th.

Winter term - From August 1st to October 30th

In order to successfully complete your application, please download the Registration booklet and follow the step-by-step guide, where you can find the links to complete the Registration process.

The UPF BaPIS Admissions Team will validate the documents and get back to you in a maximum period of 10 working days. If your Application is Accepted, once the Registration period is over you will receive the information on how to proceed with the Course Enrollment process.

Fees

Fees for UPF students and EUTOPIA students:

Current UPF undergraduate students can register at BaPIS courses as part of the academic offering of Credits de Formació Transversal de Lliure Elecció.

The BaPIS courses will be incorporated into the official academic transcript of UPF students. The fees per credit for BaPIS courses are the same official fees per credit as for the other courses of the student's Bachelor's degree.There is a fee of 27,27€ as a payment of enrolment modification for all UPF students.

Students from universities in the EUTOPIA alliance participate at the BAPIS in the same conditions as UPF students. The tuition fees for EUTOPA students are 25,04€ per credit.

The BaPIS fees for visiting students are:

  • Registration fee: 169,80 €
  • Tuition fee: 110 €/credit (ECTS)
