European Union Society Event - Electoral analysis and future prospects for the EU
Almost 360 million people from 27 different countries are going to the polls between 6 and 9 June 2024, to choose a total of 720 representatives in the European Parliament. This is undoubtedly one of the most important elections of 2024, marked by numerous debates at European and European level. The geopolitics of the European Union and migration policy, disinformation, the future of agriculture and environmental policies are some examples.
The election results and the possible outcome scenarios will determine the future of the EU: will they be a turning point or will continuity prevail? Will the European Union take a turn to the right? What are young people saying at the polls about the European Union? And how does all this affect Catalonia?
These and other issues will be the focus of the conversation in which the European Union Society and other associations will participate.
Speakers:
- Steven Forti: Professor at the UAB and the ICPS.
- Hèctor Margalef: CIDOB Researcher.
- Dolors Camats: President of the Catalunya Europa Foundation.
