Dr. Tauste Campo is Project Principal Investigator and Adjunct Lecturer at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Before, he was a Researcher at the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research centre and from 2016 to 2018, he was a Research Associate within the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) Barcelona, Spain, where he led a pioneering Research Program on the mathematical analysis and modeling of human intracranial electroencephalogram (iEEG) recordings for clinical diagnosis and cognitive studies. From 2013 to 2015 he was an Intra-European (IEF) Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellow within the Centre for Brain and Cognition (CBC), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, Spain leading an interdisciplinary project on neural information processing during decision making. Previously, Dr. Tauste Campo was granted to work as an EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) fellow at the University of Cambridge, UK, and later, at UPF, he worked for an European Research Council project led by ICREA Research Prof. Guillén i Fàbregas in the are of finite-length information theory. Over these years, he has held research and visit appointments at research institutes, companies and universities including the Institute for Telecommunications Research, Australia, Telefonica Research Labs, Spain, Universitá degli Studi di Cassino, Italy, Stanford University, US, the Universidad Nacional Autó́noma de México, México, University of California San Diego, US, among others.

Dr Tauste Campo features more than 40 scientific publications including articles in cross-disciplinary high-impact journals, IEEE engineering journals and conference proceedings and specialized clinical journals. He is also co-author of 2 book chapters and one filed patent. Over these years, he has been awareded with a project grant by the Bial Foundation, a Marie-Curie fellowship by the European Comission and was recipient of a Doctoral Prize by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), UK, for his Ph.D. thesis. He also recieved a pre-doctoral fellowship from the EPSRC and was awarded with “La Caixa” fellowship to complete a M.Sc. program at Stanford University in 2009. Since July 2015 he serves as the vice president of the Spanish Society for the Interaction between Cognitive and Computational Neurosciences (SINC2) within the Spanish Society of Neurosciences. He is reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, PLoS One, Journal of Neuroscience Methods, Entropy, among others. He is part of the Teaching Faculty of the Computational Biomedical Engineering Master at UPF and is co-supervising a PhD student, has completed the supervision of 2 Master thesis projects and 5 Bachelor degree thesis projects.
