Biography note

José Luis Martí is Bachelor in Law (1997) and PhD in Political and Social Theory (2004) by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona. He currently is associate professor in Philosophy of Law at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2008-) where he previously holded other positions as lecturer. He has been director of the LLM in Juridical Sciences since 2010 and he has been teaching fellow consultant of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) since 1998. Between 2008-2009 he holded a Laurance S. Rockefeller Fellowship at the University Center for Human Values of Princeton University and between 2013-2014 he was visiting lecturer of the University of Richmond, where he teached courses in the Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Law (PPEL) and Leadership Studies programmes.

Dr. Martí is the main researcher in a Recercaixa research project on transformations of democracy, the concept of democratic culture and on 15M movement. He is also member of the Philosophy of Law Research Group in UPF and member of other research projects leaded by Professor Moreso since 2000. He is editor in chief of the journal Law, Ethics and Philosophy (LEAP) and member of the advisory board of the journals Isonomía, Teoría Política and Ethic s& Polítics.
