INPhINIT fellowship programme training week

09.01.2019

Between the 5th and 9th of November, six PhD students from the Department of Information and Communication Technologies, Silvia Butti, Duygu Özbağcı, Indre Pileckyte, Venkatesh Shenoy Kadandale, Alexandros Zacharakis, and Arantxa Zapico, joined another 70 PhD students from around the world for their first La Caixa training in Girona.

This training constitutes one of the essential parts of the La Caixa INPhINIT fellowship programme, which is cofunded both by “la Caixa” Foundation and the European Commission through its Marie Skłodowska-Curie action COFUND. The training focuses on developing a number of soft skills that are crucial for a successful research career, as well as providing networking activities for the fellows.

The training programme was prepared by Vitae, a global leader in supporting the professional development of researchers, and Oxentia, Oxford’s Global Innovation Consultancy for innovation management and technology commercialization. The topics covered during this intense 5 day programme ranged from personal efficiency and relationship building, to intellectual property and technology transfer process.

However, the training week was not just about hard work and studying, it also involved a lot of fun activities, such as a treasure hunt, a guided visit to Girona, and a Master Chef competition, aimed at promoting bonding between the participants. As a result, we come back not only with an increased range of professional competencies, but also with a great network of new friends.
