La COVID-19 ha revelado la profunda interconexión existente entre el comportamiento humano y las enfermedades zoonóticas, particularmente entre la dieta humana y otros vectores socioeconómicos que impactan en el medio ambiente. Seis de cada diez enfermedades infecciosas pueden propagarse a partir de animales no humanos, y tres cuartas partes de las nuevas enfermedades humanas se originaron en otros animales. La COVID-19 no es una excepción. La forma en que tratamos a los animales no humanos, directamente (mediante la caza, la explotación en granjas, el tráfico, etc.) o indirectamente (mediante la presión humana o la contaminación de sus hábitats, recursos y el medio ambiente en general), está en el corazón de esta crisis. En esta plataforma hemos reunido más de 200 trabajos que conectan la forma en cómo tratamos a los otros animales con la aparición de enfermedades zoonóticas. Libros, documentos científicos y artículos de prensa disponibles para investigadores, periodistas, responsables políticos y público en general.
