What do we know about our graduates’ employment outcomes?

The Innovation Space at UCA EITIC has conducted an analysis of the LinkedIn profiles of the ICT and BIO Engineering degrees graduates from the school (2021 class).

Here we present the most significant results:

  • We have found 106 profiles on LinkedIn out of 174 ICT and GEBM graduates from the 2017-2021 class, that is, 61 % of the total number of graduates. 88 profiles seemed updated (50.57 % of the total number of graduates).
  • Out of these 88 profiles, 39.77 % have pursued further education after their degrees and 82.95 % work in positions related to their degrees.
  • 38.36 % are working in programming, which makes it the main area of employment among the graduates that are currently working.

Regarding detailed data on each specific degree:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering (GEI):
    • 92.86 % of the updated profiles are currently working in positions related to the degree. 32.14 % have pursued further education.
    • Programming is by far the main area of employment among GEI graduates.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telematics Engineering (GET):
    • This is the degree with the highest employment rate: 100 % of the updated profiles are active workers. 42.85 % of them have pursued further education.
    • Programming and consulting are the main areas of employment among graduates in GET that are currently working.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering (GESA):
    • 91.67 % of the updated profiles are currently working. It should also be noted that one third have pursued further education after the degree.
    • Programming, audiovisuals and positions related to data analysis are the main areas of employment among GESA graduates.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Engineering in Data Science (GEMCD):
    • 87.50 % of the profiles are currently working and 31.25 % have pursued further education after the degree.
    • Data engineer and data analyst are the most frequent positions among the updated profiles of graduates in GEMCD that are currently working.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (GEBM):
    • When the search was run, 60 % of graduates were working and 56 % had pursued further education.
    • The most frequent area of employment among GEBM graduates was “Others”, which includes positions such as biomedical engineer.
