A summary of data regarding the number of internship agreements among undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students at the UCA (2019-20 academic course)

05.02.2021

The Teaching Quality and Innovation Team presents a summary of data regarding the number of internship agreements (including renewals) among undergraduate, graduate and doctorate students at the School during the last academic year (2019-2020). This same survey was conducted on other academic years (please click here to find the summary). However, due to the exceptional circumstances arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, we have preferred to analyse this year’s data independently to see the impact of the pandemic on the external internships carried out by our students.

First of all, it should be noted that, as expected, the number of agreements signed in 2019-2020 has been lower than in previous years. In addition, the internships have been carried out under atypical conditions compared to what was usual; in particular, many traineeships have been carried out through teleworking.

Out of the total number of undergraduate internship agreements (266), we have received 113 assessments by the internship tutor (42% out of the total). The most relevant conclusions drawn from there were the following:

  • The internship tutors were highly satisfied.
  • All the tutors think that carryng out internship under an agreement makes it easier for students to increase their employability later.
  • A large number of agreements have ended without giving rise to a job offer (38.1%) or with the proposition of a future job offer (36.3%).
