The Pompeu Fabra University Foundation (FUPF) is regulated under Law 50/2002 of 26 December on foundations (Law 50/2002), and Law 4/2008 of 24 April of Book III of the Civil Code of Catalonia, relating to legal persons (Book III of Civil Code of Catalonia), established with founding assets entirely contributed by the UPF in 2006.

The FUPF is resource and a technical service of the University as set out in article 5 and article 28.2 of its Statutes, as it meets the requirements established in article 32 of Law 9/2017 of 8 November, on public sector contracts.

The aim of the UPF Foundation is to cooperate towards the fulfilment of Pompeu Fabra University's objectives. In order to develop and achieve its founding objectives, the Foundation carries out the following activities:

  1. Promotion and improvement of teaching and research
  2. Management of the activities entrusted to it by Pompeu Fabra University
  3. Promotion and dissemination of university culture
  4. Relations between Pompeu Fabra University and society


In 2021, Pompeu Fabra University put the Foundation in charge of managing and executing the different specific programs and projects, specified in:

  1. The Language Teaching Program (Languages UPF)
  2. The Career Services
  3. The UPF Alumni programme
  4. The design of the strategy and implementation of a University relations manager
  5. Management of the Old Fish Market-Ciutadella of Knowledge project



Born in Barcelona in 1974, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 1997) and a master's degree in Economic Analysis (University of Alicante).

She has more than twenty years of experience in the field of public administration, territorial and sectoral planning, and the design and implementation of public policy control panels, assessment and analysis.

Between 2000 and 2004, she worked on her doctoral thesis, which combined political economy with microeconomics and microeconometrics under the title of Finançament de partits polítics i altres mecanismes de participació ciutadana (Financing of political parties and other mechanisms of citizen participation, in English) 

During her period as an academic, she was a visiting lecturer at different universities abroad, such as the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and the New York University (United States).

In 2004, she left academia and joined the Barcelona Institute of Regional and Metropolitan Studies (IERMB) as project manager in the field of economics. In 2005, she became the head of this Institute and, as such, she was director and coordinator of different projects in the field of the labour economics, territorial economics and entrepreneurship.

In January 2007, she joined the Office of the President of the Government of Catalonia as an analyst of public policies.  While working in this position, she developed her knowledge in the design and implementation of a new set of tools for the analysis, assessment and accountability of the government's policies.

She has also worked at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and as a freelance consultant  in several consulting companies in the field of local economic development and public policy assessment.

In 2010, she returned to academia as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Public Economy, Political Economy and Spanish Economy at the University of Barcelona, where she teaches public economy.

Between 2012 and 2014, she was part of the team in charge of developing the RIS3 strategy in the city of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. While working on the RIS3 strategy, she had the opportunity to collaborate with the local government, local industry and the university to launch a new sustainable economic growth strategy.

In 2017, she was chosen to take part in the Santander W30 Programme for women’s leadership in university direction, which she completed at the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Since 2015, she has been the Deputy General Director of the Pompeu Fabra University Foundation. She is part of the management team at the University and is the head of different programmes which are management by the UPF Foundation, such as Languages UPF, Careers Services, the UPF Alumni programme and the implementation of unified management of University relations (GURU-CRM project).
