Rosa Gornés Gomis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting (2014-2018) from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) and a Master’s degree in Translation Studies (2018-2019) from the same university. She is currently pursuing a PhD in the Translation and Language Sciences programme of Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Her PhD thesis focuses on the eighteenth-century translations from Menorca. She is also member of the research group Grup d’Estudis de Traducció, Recepció i Literatura Catalana (TRILCAT).

Since 2018, she teaches Llengua Catalana and Fonaments de la Traducció in seminar groups, both subjects from the Bachelor’s degree in Translation. She combines research and teaching with freelance translator activity.

She is a sworn translator from English into Catalan and from Catalan into English, appointed by the Generalitat of Catalonia. Her working languages are Catalan, Spanish, English and German, thanks to which she did a stay at Universität zu Köln in 2015
