Rin4min has four prize categories: first, second, third and a special prize awarded by the audience, consisting of 900, 600, 300 and 200 euros, respectively.

The winner of the special prize is chosen by the audience in attendance at the final and may be one of the contestants awarded the first, second or third prize by the jury.

In addition, the winner will have the right to take part in the Catalan "Tesis en 4 minuts" competition. This competition is organized by Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) in which all the Catalan universities are involved.
