UPF rectoral elections called

Voting will take place between 3 and 5 May and for the second time, the rector will be chosen exclusively by means of online voting.

On 24 February, the University Board of Governors approved the announcement of elections for the position of UPF rector, the process starting today with the publication of the electoral roll. Candidatures can also be submitted as of today and up until 15 April. Voting will take place between 3 and 5 May 2021. The established calendar has been set taking into account the previous election, which was held in April 2017, and by how Easter falls this year.

As in the last elections, voting will be fully electronic. Vote weighting percentages of the different polling stations are as set out in article 51.2 of the UPF Statutes.

The main dates of the process

  • Start of the process with the publication of the electoral roll: 19 March 2021
  • Deadline for the submission of candidacies: until 15 April 2021
  • Final announcement of candidates: 22 April 2021
  • Electoral campaign: from 23 April to 2 May 2021
  • Voting: 3 to 5 May 2021.
  • Count: 5 May 2021
  • Provisional announcement of the elected candidate, or if applicable, of the candidates going through to the second round: 6 May 2021.
