20/06/24 - GRETA Annual Lecture

06.06.2024

Imatge inicial -

To commemorate the first anniversary of the creation of the GRETA research group, we are organizing our first annual lecture titled "Rethinking women’s public safety as care in urban spaces of hyperunsafety". Our guest speaker for this lecture will be Prof. Rachel Pain from the University of Newcastle. She is a renowed social and political geographer whose research focused on violence, community safety, trauma and fear, including gender-based violence. Her work follows a feminist and participatory approach. Prof. Pain will be accompanied by three experts in the topic: Samantha Joeck, Geanina Zagal Ehrenfeld, and Sara Ortiz Escalante. The discussants will contribute through their expertise as scholars and activists. The event will be moderated by Prof. Maria Rodó-Zárate, GRETA's coordinator.

The event will take place on the 20th of June at 12 pm at the Auditorium of the Ciutadella Campus. Refreshments and snacks will be provided after the lecture. If you wish to attend, please register here: bit.ly/Greta2024.
