Open call for residencies during Summer-Fall 2022
Open call for artistic residencies during the second half of the year 2022. We are looking for proposals in which music and sound technologies (in their broadest sense) play a central role in the development of an artistic proposal.
In a non-exhaustive way, we are interested in proposals identifiable as:
- Experimental electronic music
- Development and performance with electronic instruments
- 3D audio and immersivity
- Electroacoustic music
- Artificial intelligence and sound creation
- Technologically mediated sound art
- Sound sculpture and installation
- Critical and/or ecological perspectives on music technology
We offer several modalities and time periods depending on the availability of our spaces and the specific needs of the proposed projects, to be agreed with the artists selected in the selection process:
- 2 short 5-day full-time residencies during the month of July 2022 at Sala Aranyó to develop, finalise or adapt immersive audio proposals on our 15.2-channel 3D Amate Audio system.
- 3 short 5-day full-time residencies during the month of July 2022 in our studios at the UPF Poblenou Campus (recording, post-production), to develop proposals related to one of our areas of action.
- 3 long-term residencies (3 to 6 months) to be staggered starting on 15 September 2022.
Our residencies include technical and artistic support, as well as the adaptation of our spaces to the needs of the selected projects. We are also committed to creating opportunities for the dissemination of the works produced, either through our record netlabel or as part of the Phonos season of activities, as well as in events organised by collaborating institutions, depending on the type of each project selected.
The selection criteria will value the quality and artistic resonance of the proposals with some of the current lines of artistic direction, the variety of the proposals and their timing, as well as the equality in terms of gender, origin, cultural context and age of the proposals received.
