We have the great pleasure to welcome Julio César Palacio as a guest artist at the Residències Festival, where he will present his new project, Bio DATA-X.

This project stems from the artist's need to recycle and cut down on the amount of technological devices used in his creative processes, in response to the growing technopathy and hyperdependence on gadgets in the production of sound content. With this work, the artist inaugurates a creative methodology based on listening to the environment and the relationship with the soundscape that surrounds us. This interest is combined with the practice of field recording, which the artist has been doing for the last 10 years.

Each presentation of Bio DATA-X is entitled Weather Report, and consists of abstract pieces composed entirely with geophonies recorded by the artist and electronically transformed. This becomes a multi-channel performance addressing bioacoustics, environmental research, hidden sounds and soundscapes, exploring the relationship between these and their living physical source in the composition.

In this occasion, the artist will present Weather Report #1 in which Julio César will use content recorded mostly in the Collserola Natural Park.
