Syntagma Piano Duo premieres works by CIC-BCNM 22 students

We are hosting this concert by the resident ensemble of the Barcelona Modern International Composition Course 2022, Syntagma Piano Duo, with Carolina Santiago and Francisco Martí, who will perform works for two pianos and electronics by the active students of this edition, under the supervision of Mark Andre and Benet Casablancas as composition teachers. In this concert we will listen the following works:

Specialized in 20th and 21st-century music, Syntagma Piano Duo is a contemporary two-piano, four-hand music group formed in 2011 by Carolina Santiago Martínez and Francisco Martí Hernández. Their artistic profile is oriented towards the dissemination and performance of newly created experimental music and unconventional interpretive proposals.
Carolina Santiago is pianist at the Barcelona Modern Ensemble and participates as a concert player in international festivals, where she collaborates with different groups such as the Ensemble Linea. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Aveiro and the European Master CoPeCo in Tallinn, Stockholm, Lyon and Hamburg.
Francisco Martí works as a repertoire pianist at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (Belgium) and combines his work with chamber and ensemble music projects throughout Europe. He is currently studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam a postgraduate course on advanced rythm based on the techniques of Carnatic music.
