I. Methodological principles in language research

Learning to read the methodology of a paper. Main methods and techniques. Ethics. Quantitative methodology. Sampling. Surveys, ex-post facto and experimental approaches. Experimental design.

II. Understanding the data and the software

Learning to read the statistical analysis in a paper. Phases of the analysis. The data matrix. Types of data, variables, the normal distribution. SPSS. Graphs and pivot tables. Descriptive statistics.
