AGAUR loan
Monthly payment with 0% interest - AGAUR loan This option, which is managed by the Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR), enables you to pay your full enrolment fee in various monthly instalments. The following financial conditions apply:
To be able to apply for an AGAUR loan, your enrolment fee must be between €500 and €7,000. Such loans are only available to students of Spanish nationality or to foreign students who have a Spanish tax ID number (NIE) and, if applicable, are able to take out the loan jointly with a third party who can show that their income is sufficient to meet the financial institution's risk assessment criteria.
AGAUR loans do not cover subsequent modifications in terms of the credits for which you enrol. The fee due in such cases must be paid in one instalment by direct debit.
To take out an AGAUR loan, you must provide your IBAN (24 characters), choose a financial institution (Banco de Sabadell or Caja de Ingenieros) and authorize AGAUR to pass on your details to it. A message describing the steps you should take to obtain the loan will be sent to your UPF email account. Full information is available from the AGAUR website.
Caja de Ingenieros is a cooperative. Accordingly, if you choose this financial institution and you are not a member of it, you will be required to make an initial payment of €7.21 to become a member (based on holder cooperative). €6.01 of your payment will be refunded to you if you end your membership. The process of taking out a loan via Caja de Ingenieros must be carried out in person, in its branch at no. 39 Vía Laietana in Barcelona.
If you are awarded a general grant by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, any amount you have paid via an AGAUR loan and covered by the grant in question will be refunded to you.
