Mandatory documents

  • Official undergraduate degree/diploma.
  • Academic transcript of the accredited official training with the average grade at the university of origin.
  • Curriculum Vitae in English.
  • A photocopy of proof of English language (level B2)
In case you would like to be exempted from accrediting any language because you are a native speaker or you have studied in that language, it is necessary for you to upload a brief letter justifying the reasons why you request to be exempted from this requirement.
  • Two letters of recommendation (academic or professional). Reference letters should convince about the candidate’s suitability for the training eventually provided at the Research Master in Sociology and Demography or any of the double degrees associated with it. For this reason, we invite the candidate to provide reference letters from organisations that are somehow related to the content of these educational programmes.
In order to optimise the treatment and security of the recommendation letters, the candidate will have to request those via the online application system, where he/she will need to indicate the e-mail address of the person/the persons he/she wishes to be recommended by. That person will receive an e-mail indicating that the candidate wishes a recommendation letter from him/her. The letter will be uploaded by the referee in the online application system. Non-institutional addresses such as *yahoo, *gmail, *hotmail, etc... will not be accepted.
  • letter of motivation in English stating the candidate's interest in following the master's programme (2 pages maximum). The letter of motivation should be particularly relevant if the candidate’s previous background is very distant from Sociology, Demography, or Social Sciences in general. The candidate is then invited to argue the need of a major disciplinary change for his/her future professional trajectory.
If you wish to do a double degree, it should be explicity stated in the motivation letter.
  • Identity Card or Passport.
