Mercè Lorente, director of the Institute for Applied Linguistics (IULA-CER) and full professor at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), will be from this January Secretary of the Philological Section of the Institute of Catalan Studies (IEC), of which she has been a member since 2016.

The new president of the Philological Section, Nicolau Dols, professor of Catalan Philology at the University of the Balearic Islands, heads the team that, in addition to Mercè Lorente, is comprised of Mila Segarra, as Vice President, and Maria Josep Cuenca, as Treasurer.
