foto cei2 The final report of the CEI UPF-Icària Project, which summarises all the activities introduced between 2010 and 2015, has been awarded the highest score ("A") by an international commission. The previous follow-up reports (for 2012 and 2013) also earned the same rating. With the evaluation of this final report, the University draws a close to the monitoring and evaluation set out in the announcement of the CEI programme.

In its report, the international commission highlights that "the University is heading in the right direction regarding research, teaching and knowledge transfer" and that in these five years it " has successfully carried out an ambitious, well-focused programme".

Among the main strengths identified is the University's success in competitive calls for research funding (7 th Framework Programme of the European Union and Horizon 2020); continuous improvement in teaching (highlighting the MOOCs, the personalized tutoring programmes and the internships management systems); the international presence of the campus in different European networks and programmes; the launching of the Doctoral School; high internationalization (in terms of students and lecturers), and the launching of the UPF Research Park.

The commission also drafted some recommendations to consolidate and maintain this position such as taking greater advantage of synergies with strategic partners in both teaching and research (for example, establishing common goals in the context of an institutional strategy); continuing to be committed to the strengths in teaching and research, without diversifying efforts; or establishing specific targets and indicators to assess the impact that the University hopes to achieve.

Success in the extraordinary call for the funding of specific projects

Within the framework of CEI projects, in September 2015, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports published an extraordinary call for the funding of specific projects aimed at public and private universities.

UPF, which presented three actions for promoting the internationalization of the campus, attracting talent and innovation in teaching, has obtained funding to the value of 231,250 euros. The three actions presented, respectively, seek to find new strategic partners to implement academic partnership projects and joint research; consolidate the strategy to attract talent initiated with the UPFellows programme with the launch of a new programme; and promote the use of technology as an element of transformation in teaching through the strengthening of MOOCs.
