The bachelor’s degree programme in Industrial Technology and Economic Analysis combines industrial engineering subjects with the fundamentals of economics in order to provide the high-level interdisciplinary training needed to adapt to new situations and assimilate the future technological developments businesses will have to adopt to improve their products and processes.
This programme, offered jointly by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), is taught entirely in English and aims to meet the need for new industrial leaders with both a solid understanding of innovation and technology and detailed knowledge of economics.
Graduates of the programme will be qualified to enrol directly on the master’s degree programme in Industrial Engineering offered by UPC or pursue advanced studies in economics. The programme also offers an outstanding opportunity to work on innovation projects through internships at national and international companies and excellent employment prospects.
Subjects are taught on the campuses of both universities. Thus, in addition to the multidisciplinary nature of the undergraduate programme itself, students will share time and spaces with other industrial engineering and economics students. The industrial technology blocks will be taught at the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEI) at UPC, whilst the economics block will be taught at the School of Economics and Business at UPF.
Internships are extracurricular and offer an outstanding opportunity to work on innovation projects at national and international companies, whilst at the same time further enhancing participants’ employment prospects. Furthermore, under a programme-specific agreement, students are eligible for a specific scholarship programme in addition to the scholarships available through the university system in general.
Graduates will be qualified to practise the regulated profession of industrial engineer by completing a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (ESEIAAT, ETSEIB).
This bachelor’s degree programme is part of an integrated bachelor’s and master’s degree programme that qualifies graduates to practise regulated professions. It also offers the necessary training to pursue advanced studies in economics.
