The study plan includes optional internships in external companies starting from the third year.
External internships are training activities carried out by students and supervised by the university. They have three main objectives: The first is to apply and complement the knowledge acquired during academic training. The second objective is to bring students closer to the reality of the professional field in which they will work once they graduate. The third is to develop the skills that will facilitate their entry into the labor market.
In the Bachelor’s Degree in Computational Audiovisual Engineering, we have 84 companies and organizations where 229 students have carried out internships during the last three academic years.
Here are some of them: Dolby, MediaPro, Betevé, Rakuten TV, TV3, CapGemini, NTT Data, Worldline Iberia, Accenture, Mango, Grifols, Volkswagen, INDRA, Avanade, Schneider Electric, IDIBAPS, Keonn Technologies, Aqua eSolutions, Vendo Services, Blowww 4 Analytics, Cuatrecasas, IOMED Medical Solutions, Sycai Technologies, Grupo Catalana Occidente, Gaes, Henkel, Indra, Corporació Guissona, Altran, RocaSalvatella, Penguin Random House and EY.
A part of the students also do internships in our research groups within the Department.
The main motivations for students carrying out internships each year are: acquiring new knowledge, getting closer to the profession, and increasing their chances of labor market insertion.
Regarding the criteria for selecting internship centers, motivations for the tasks to be developed, interest in the sector or business area, and motivation for the pre-established skills are emphasized. Establishing professional contacts and getting to know a company also appear as important factors.
The most positively valued aspects are: gaining work experience, learning, financial remuneration, the speed and simplicity of the management process, and the variety of companies available in the job placement service.
You can find all the information on the program’s website in the “How to do internships?” section.
