Ciera Crowell (CMTech PhD Candidate) gets mobility award from SEBAP

Ciera Crowell (CMTech) has been granted one of the 17 mobility awards from the SEBAP for a three months research stay at Technical University Eindhoven (TU/e) under the hosting of Prof. Tilde Bekker from the Department of Industrial Design.

The PhD candidate from CMTech, Ciera Crowell, has been granted one of the 17 mobility awards from the "Societat Econòmica Barcelonesa Amics del País" (SEBAP). The award consisting of 4,200€, will be used for a three months research stay at Technical University Eindhoven (TU/e) (The Netherlands) under the hosting of Prof. Tilde Bekker from the Department of Industrial Design. Ciera is doing her PhD research on full-body interaction design to foster social initiation in children with Autism, under the supervision of Prof. Narcís Parés within the Full-Body Interaction Lab. Her research stay will delve into the aspects of open-ended play design which she is applying in her work for interactive spaces for children with Autism. The award was officially given on March 20, 2018, at the "Saló de Cent" of the City Hall of Barcelona in a ceremony led by Mr. Miquel Roca (President of SEBAP) and the Deputy Mayor Mr. Gerardo Pisarello.
