ETIC Department members, among the awarded by the UPF Board of Trustees

The opening session of UPF academic year 2017-2018 took place last Tuesday, October 9th. During the event, the UPF Board of Trustees Awards were given. Among the winners there are many members from ETIC Department.

The Award to the Quality in Teaching, on the one hand, aims to recognize and encourage excellence in teaching and promote innovation as a determining factor in quality assessment. In this framework, the UPF HackLab received a finalist mention in educational initiative for being a tool that promotes informal and interdisciplinary learning (XAVIER BINEFA, AURELIO RUIZ, DAVINIA HERNÁNDEZ LEO, VERÓNICA MORENO, POL CAPDEVILA, JOSEPA GERMAN, ALBERTO CARRIÓ, AÏDA SOLÉ, CARLES ROCA, MAR CARRIÓ and ENCARNA ATIENZA). Likewise, prizes  for the Teaching Activity within a Degree were given,  among which we find the Degree in Biomedical Engineering (OSCAR CÁMARA REY), the Degree in Computer Engineering (VANESA DAZA, ​​JOSÉ MARI ESNAOLA, JOSÉ ÁNGEL GARCÍA, GLORIA HARO, MARIA OLIVER and JORDI TAIXÉS) and the Degree in Engineering in Telecommunication Networks (ALBERT BEL PEREIRA, DAVINIA HERNÁNDEZ LEO, ANA MARÍA FREIRE VEIGA).

 

 

On the other hand, the award-winning project to the Transfer of knowledge category has been Gamut Mapping Technology (MARCELO JOSÉ BERTALMÍO, JAVIER VAZQUEZ-CORRAL and SYED WAQAS ZAMIR). This award was created with the aim of encouraging the transfer of knowledge and technology among the researchers of this University, evidence of the importance of bringing scientific advances to society and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of the researchers.

Besides these awards, the UPF Board of Trustees also awarded with the University Social Responsibility Award the project "Escola Drassanes & UPF  - inclusive excellence in Primary Education" by Laia Albó, Mittzy Arciniega, Lina Bautista, Carla Brito-Fuentes, Óscar Cámara, Ciera Crowell, Jonathan Ferrer, Ana Freire, Davinia Hernández-Leo, Mònika, Jiménez Moralez, Lisa Llaneli, Glòria Macià, Sebastian Marichal, Pilar Medina-Bravo, Verónica Moreno, Joan Puig, Maria Rauschenberger, Aurelio Ruiz, Roberto Sánchez Reina, Patricia Santos,  Marie Monique-Schaper, Pallabi Sengupta.
