The UPF Department of Economics and Business is pleased to announce the appointment of Davide Debortoli as an ICREA Research Professor.

Prof. Debortoli is an Associate Researcher at CREI, Research Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics, Research Fellow of the CEPR, and Associate Editor at the Journal of Monetary Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2008). His research focuses on macroeconomics, business cycles, fiscal and monetary policies, government credibility, and inequality among households.

To date Prof. Debortoli has had a distinguished career, working as an Assistant Professor at the University of California-San Diego, and holding visiting positions at Bocconi University, the Norges Bank, and De Nederlansche Bank. He has published articles in the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economics Studies, and other leading economic journals. He was also awarded an International Incoming Marie Curie Fellowship from the European Research Council (2015) and the Wim Duisenberg Fellowship from the European Central Bank (2022).

The position of ICREA Research Professor is reserved for distinguished scholars who have shown dedicated research and real contributions to the field of economics. The appointment is a true testament to Prof. Debortoli's hard work and dedication to the field. The UPF is proud to have Prof. Debortoli amongst its ranks, and looks forward to the innovative research that he will bring.
