The U-Rànquing 2018, developed by the BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute for Economic Research (IVIE), has once again placed UPF as the Spanish state’s best performing university, a position it has held since the first edition of the ranking in 2013. The University also holds first place in research, second in teaching and has risen to third place in innovation and technological development.

The global ranking is calculated based on the institutions’ results in these three dimensions, each of which has a different weight (56% for teaching, 34% for research and 10% for innovation). In this edition, 25 indicators have been used in relation to four different areas (access to resources, academic production, results quality and internationalisation). All in all, a total of 61 universities in the state were analysed, 13 of which are private.

The following table shows the results of the top five universities in the global ranking and their positions in the different dimensions.

Finally, it should be highlighted that UPF has been among the 5 best performing universities for all indicators since the ranking’s first edition.
