Elections to the UPF Senate, the University’s highest representative body, have been called
The process to elect the representatives of the teaching and research staff, students and technical, management and administration and services staff to the Senate begins. Voting will be held electronically from 10 to 13 January 2025 and will culminate with the proclamation of the elected candidates on 20 January.
Given that the term of office of the members of the Pompeu Fabra University Senate has come to an end, today, 14 November, elections have been called to choose the representatives of teaching and research staff, students and technical, management and administration and services staff.
The mandate of this Senate is marked by the Organic Law of the University System (LOSU)
The main dates to bear in mind are:
- 14 to 18 November 2024: consultation of the electoral census and claims
- 25 November 2024: last day to submit candidacies
- 5 December 2024: final announcement of candidates
- 5 December 2024 to 9 January 2025: electoral campaign
- 10 to 13 January 2025 (both inclusive): electronic voting
- 14 January 2025: results and proclamation of elected candidates
- 20 January 2025: definitive election results
The mandate of this Senate is marked by the Organic Law of the University System (LOSU): it is the Senate that must approve the adaptation of the UPF Statutes to the LOSU. And this approval, as stipulated by the regulation, entails calling new elections, in order to elect and constitute a new Senate once the Government of Catalonia has verified compliance with the legal standards in force and the text of the adaptation of the Statutes has been published in the official gazette (DOGC).
