Jordi Galí awarded the Narcís Monturiol Medal

Jordi Galí, Professor of the Department of Economics and Business at UPF, has been awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya with the Narcís Monturiol Medal in recognition of his scientific career.

The Catalan Government made public on July 28th, the names of the three institutions and the 16 personalities distinguished with the Narcís Monturiol Medal and Plate, respectively, which are focused on the scientific and technological merit of people and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the development of science and technology in our country.

Jordi Galí, Director of the Center of Research in International Economics (CREI), PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Professor at the Universities of Columbia and New York throughout his career, has been honored for his contributions in analyzing the nature of economic fluctuations and the optimal design of monetary policy.
