The Department of Economics and Business of Universitat Pompeu Fabra ranks 42nd worldwide amongst research centers in economics, according to the ranking compiled by the Center for Research in Economics and Business of Tilburg University. Within Europe, it ranks 10th. The results are published at https://econtop.uvt.nl. Based on publication success in the top 5 journals in economics (Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics and Review of Economics Studies) the Department of Economics and Business of the UPF rises to 33rd position in the world and 7th in Europe.
