Carmen is a graduate in Hispanic Philology from the Universitat de Barcelona. She obtained her doctorate in Spanish Literature form Ohio State University.

Teaching

From 1995 to 2000, she taught Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture classes at Ohio State University, first as a Graduate Teaching Associate  and later as a Lecturer. During her time in the USA she was also an editorial assistant at the language and cultural journal España contemporánea.  On her return to Barcelona she continued to teach Spanish in various institution. She also worked as a reader for the publishing house Tusquets. She has been a teacher on the Language Teaching Programme at UPF, and since 2005 she has been coordinator in the Spanish Department. Along with other members of the department she is co-author of the book Clase de cine.
