The UPF Barcelona School of Management has achieved the AMBA-accreditation which recognizes its academic quality and reputation and places it among the best business schools in the world. This seal reached only by 286 schools worldwide, six in Spain and three in Barcelona, is a recognition granted by the International Association of Masters in Business Administration (AMBA & BGA), based in the United Kingdom.

"This accreditation will help us in our journey to become an internationally recognized School of Management with social impact"

“This accreditation will help us in our journey to become an internationally recognized School of Management with social impact”, said the dean, Oriol Amat, who congratulated “staff, faculty, students, alumni and companies involved in this great achievement”. Having the AMBA is a further step in the internationalisation of the School and also opens the door to participating in prestigious international rankings such as the QS Business Masters Ranking

The UPF Barcelona School of Management adds one of the three internationally recognized accreditations known as the triple crown and it is moving forward with its goal of obtaining all three. There are only 100 schools in the world with this triple recognition. “I am delighted that the prestigious UPF Barcelona School of Management has become a member of our Business School network, which includes only the top 2% of Business Schools globally”, said Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the AMBAs & BGA.

The strenghts of the UPF-BSM

The AMBA is an institutional accreditation that has specifically evaluated the EMBA and MSC Management of the UPF-BSM. “This seal allows us to compete with the group of best business schools”, said Susana Domingo, the director of EMBA who has also emphasized the relevance of this accreditation “in such a competitive environment as Barcelona”. “After the 23 editions of EMBA, this recognition will allow us to attract international students, faculty and business”, said Domingo, who is also the Director of the Academic Area of Strategy & Innovation of the UPF-BSM.

"After the 23 editions of EMBA, this recognition will allow us to attract international students, faculty and business"

“This accreditation is another element that reinforces the long career and reputation of our program”, said Anna Torres, codirector of MSC Management. Likewise, Gert Cornelisen, also codirector of the program, is confident that the achievement of AMBA will “convince the best international students to join us”.

During the accreditation process, the association has carried out a 360º evaluation of the aforementioned programs and other aspects have also been evaluated such as the governance of the centre, the organisational structure, the research policy, and the teaching staff.

Hence, according to the final report issued by AMBA, the strengths of UPF-BSM are its brand link with the Pompeu Fabra University; the strategy for change and the multiple initiatives spearheaded by the leadership of the dean, Oriol Amat; the advances in research and the focus on applied research; the enthusiastic and committed nature of the teaching staff; the commitment to culture and planetary well-being; the powerful offer of Executive Education; the quality of international relations and double degree options and the commitment of the School with international and accreditation networks.
