In the frame of the climate emergency, Spain is implementing its own Just Transition Strategy following the premises of the United Nations SDGs (2030).
The centrality of workers’ rights and social protection regulations to the success of the sustainable transition is at the heart of this project. An integrative approach appears to promote an awareness of the interrelationship between social and environmental interests. The ILO's integration of the green jobs and decent work agendas pushes labour regulation to the fore of environmental policy-making.  The four pillars of the ILO's concept of Decent Work are crucial towards a sustainable transformation: employment opportunities, fundamental principles and rights at work, social protection and social dialogue. Gender equality has a transversal dimension in the definition of this model.
