Climent-Ferrando has presented before the Committee the different lines of research that will be developed by the UPF researchers, which will revolve around four axes:

  1. Language, society and migrations, which will deal with the (re)conceptualizations of current language policies – conceived as social policies – in increasingly multilingual societies.
  2. Language, discourse and society, which will analyse the dominant discourses on multilingualism and the categorization of languages in today’s globalized world.
  3. Language rights, which will focus on the analysis of legislation in bilingual/multilingual societies
  4. Education in multilingual environments, dealing with the role and presence of languages (minority/majority, migrant languages as well as the increasing presence of English as a medium of instruction).
