Daniel Ferrés

Dr. Daniel Ferrés is a Research Assistant at the Large Scale Text Understanding Systems Lab (LaSTuS) and member of the TALN research group at the DTIC Department of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). He is currently involved in the ConMuTeS Project.

Dr. Ferrés holds a M.A.S. and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya(UPC) and a BsC in Computer Science & Engineering from Universitat de Girona. He has been involved in Research and Development of software technologies in the fields of Natural Language Processing (NLP),Information Retrieval (IR) and Machine Learning mainly in the academia but also in startup companies. He has experience in research in several NLP and IR tasks such as: Text Simplification, Scientific Text Mining, Geographical Information Retrieval, Question Answering, Textual Georeferencing, Textual Entailment, and  Named Entity Recognition and Classification.
