Pablo Punín Tandazo

Pablo Punín Tandazo graduated in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (2018), studied a Master's degree in Criminology and Criminal Enforcement at Pompeu Fabra University (2019-2020) and the German School of Criminal Sciences at the University of Gottingen (2021 -2022).

Pablo works as a Criminal Sponsorship Specialist in the Comptroller of Ecuador. He is an adjunct professor of criminal theory and a founding member of the Observatory of Criminology, Criminal Policy and Criminal Enforcement, where he holds the position of general coordinator.

His academic interest and lines of research focus on critical criminology, alternatives to prison, treatment of persons deprived of liberty, philosophy of criminal law and cybercrime. She is developing a doctoral thesis on how to manage prison and the systematic violation of the rights of less favored groups within it, discussing the legitimacy of its main use in a society with profound problems of inequality, under the direction of Professor Elena Larrauri Pijoán.
