Kemp, Steven

Steven Kemp is a Doctor of Law and Criminology from the University of Girona (2020). His doctoral thesis “Fraud against individuals in the Internet era: trends, victimization, impact and reporting” was co-directed by Daniel Varona and Fernando Miró-Llinares and resulted in publications in the European Journal of Criminology, European Journal on Criminal Policy and Research, and InDret.

He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Pompeu Fabra University. Previously, he has been an associate professor at the University of Girona and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, a collaborating professor at the Open University of Catalonia, and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Manchester.

He graduated in Criminology from the University of Girona (2014) and has completed a Master's Degree in Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Studies from the University of Portsmouth, England (2017). His main lines of investigation are cybercrime and fraud, white collar crime, crime reporting, and criminal sentences.
