The itinerant exhibition "L'arxiu Jordà. The documentary fons of the filmmaker to Santa Coloma de Farners " was inaugurated on May 10, presenting a selection of documents from the legacy of Catalan director and screenwriter Joaquim Jordà. Co-produced by the Numax - Joaquim Jordà Study Center, the Santa Coloma de Farners City Council and the La Selva County Archive, the exhibition can be visited in the La Selva Regional Archive (C / Sant Dalmau, No. 60) of Santa Coloma de Farners until July 27, 2019, to then be transferred to Barcelona and Girona.

Developed through the archival background that the director donated to his hometown, composed of about 2.500 written documents, his personal library, political publications, a videographic collection and photographs, the exhibition focuses on the last decade of his life, from 1996 to 2006, and on his activity as director and teacher. This way, "L'arxiu Jordà" revolves around five films by the author, Un cos al bosc (1996), Mones com la Becky (1999), De nens (2003), Vint anys no són res (2004) and Més enllà del mirall (2006), and allows visitors a close look into his creative process.

The conception of the central idea, the script changes, the different versions of the dossier for the same project, the documentation, the search for funding, the determination of locations and characters, and the planning and recording of the filming process are some of the stages that illustrate the coming together of Jordà’s projects. However, cinema is not the only focus of the exhibition, which also holds documents linked to the director’s other activities, such as press releases of the labor movement, which Jordà kept in his file, documents on his work as a university professor and more.

The exhibition is curated by Cristina Rubio, who is currently working on her Ph.D. thesis focused on the author, and  is coordinated by Jordi Balló, dean of the UPF's School of Communication and director of the Master's Degree in Creation Documentary at the same university, and Joaquim Carreras, director of the County File of La Selva. The Fundació SGAE, the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Acadèmia del Cinema Català also collaborated on the exhibit.

"L'arxiu Jordà" will not be the only local activity around the director, but it will also be accompanied by a cycle of projections in the Municipal Auditorium of Santa Coloma, in addition to the activities that will be developed by the recently constituted Numax - Joaquim Jordà Studies Center.
