Graduated in History of Art from the University of Barcelona and holder of a Doctorate in Audiovisual Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University. He has written, with Jordi Balló, the books La llavor immortal. Els arguments universals en el cinema, Jo ja he estat aquí. Ficcions de la repetició (translated into Spanish and Italian), El món un escenari. Shakespeare: el guionista invisible (translated into Spanish) and Els riscos del saber. With Núria Bou, he has written Cent anys d'espectacle. Història del cinema i El temps de l'heroi. Èpica i masculinitat en el cinema de Hollywood (bilingual edition, Catalan-Spanish). He is also the writer of El suspens cinematogràfic (translated into Italian) and of Películas clave del cine de espías. Coordinator of the research group CINEMA (Aesthetic Research of Audiovisual Media Group), from the UPF's Communication Department, he is, since 2014, a main co-researcher of the Spanish Ministry's I+D project "El cuerpo erótico de la actriz bajo los fascismos: España, Italia y Alemania (1939-45)", expected to finish the year 2017.
