Lecturer at Pompeu Fabra University, where he teaches "Evolution of Visual Languages", and academic coordinator of the BA in Audiovisual Communication. His work focuses on political cinema from the 1960s and 70s, the representation of violence, the interaction between cinema and other arts, and star studies, with a focus on Spain and Brazil. He has published articles on filmmakers such as Júlio Bressane, Leon Hirszman, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Werner Herzog and Marta Rodríguez, as well as on film censorship and folkloric Spanish actresses. His doctoral thesis “Del hambre al vómito: imágenes del consume en el cine moderno” (“From Hunger to Vomit: Images of Consumption in Modern Cinema”, 2014) focused on the notions of hunger, consumption and vomit in both European and Brazilian new waves. From 2016 to 2019 he was a postdoctoral researcher on the project "Towards an Intermedial History of Brazilian Cinema: Exploring Intermediality as a Historiographic Method" at the University of Reading (United Kingdom), and since 2016 he has been one of the editors of the journal Comparative Cinema, published by Pompeu Fabra University.
