PhD in Romance Philology (Italian section) from the University of Barcelona. Audiovisual Communication tenured lecturer in Pompeu Fabra University. She is currently directing the Master in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies. She is the author of La mirada en el temps. Mite i passió en el cinema de Hollywood (Ed. 62, 1996, Premi d’assaig Josep Vallverdú), translated into Italian by Editori Riuniti. She is also the author of Plano/Contraplano (Ed. Biblioteca Nueva, 2002) and Deesses i tombes. Mites femenins en el cinema de Hollywood (Ed. Proa, 2004), Carles Rahola award, translated into Spanish by Ed. Icaria. She has collaborated in many books and journals about the topic of the actor, such as Les dives: mites i celebritats (Ed. 3 i 4, 2007) or “La modernitat desde el clasicismo: el cuerpo de Marlene Dietrich” (L’Atalante, 19, 2015) and about woman desire in the volumes Polítiques del desig (Ed. Icaria, 2007) or Las metamorfosis del deseo (UOC, 2010) and in the journal Cinema Comparat/ive, 8, 2016 with the article “Lois Weber: women thought in movement”. In 2014, she curated the exhibit “Estrelles del silenci. L’Star System en el cinema mut de Hollywood” in Girona’s Museu de Cinema. With Xavier Pérez, she has written Cent anys d’espectacle (Ed. Graó, 1995), El tiempo del héroe (Paidós, 2000) and she has coordinated the collective book El cuerpo erótico de la actriz bajo los fascismos (Ed. Cátedra, 2018), related to the Spanish Ministry’s I+D project “El cuerpo erótico de la actriz bajo los fascismos: España, Italia y Alemania (1939-45)”, with both of them as main researchers. Currently, they are the main researchers of the project “Representaciones del deseo femenino en el cine español durante el franquismo: evolución gestual de la actriz ante la coacción censora".
