A research project to identify and analyse the main professional profiles of science communication in Spain. Among other objectives, the project wants to identify the professional profiles in the practice of public communication of science, analyse how widespread these profiles are in Spain, identify and analyse what barriers and opportunities exist for the expansion of the different profiles, and explore how generative artificial intelligence (AI) is being used in the profession. With the results obtained, a set of Recommendations for the development of professional profiles in science communication will be prepared. The objective of the guide will be to propose measures to increase the employability of those profiles with less access to the labour market and, in general, to improve the visibility of the different profiles and to value the profession, both among decision-making agents (politicians, administration, industry representatives, etc.) and among citizens (and the civil organisations in which they are represented).
