Daniela R. Waldhorn at The Aquatic Life Conference 2021

The Aquatic Life Conference 2021
10.11.2021

Daniela R. Waldhorn, a member of the UPF-CAE board, participated in The Aquatic Life Conference 2021 held from November 15 to November 18 2021. Together with Andrés Jiménez and Jennifer Jacquet, Daniela participated in the panel "Neglected Species", on Wednesday November 17, 2021, afrom 9.00 to 10.00 am (US EST).

What this panel is about: Shrimp and octopus are some of the most neglected species within the animal welfare movement. Speakers will discuss the current issues in shrimp and octopus farming, advocacy efforts and where it’s headed.

What this conference is about: This conference is open to anyone who is interested in aquatic animal protection, regardless of sector. It is happening at a critical juncture, particularly as we approach the last decade of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, to elevate public awareness of aquatic animal sentience and the importance of taking their welfare into consideration going forward. For this reason, we have invited a variety of speakers outside of the animal welfare space, including experts from marine and ocean conservation groups, industry and the private sector, and media.
