The research groups comprising the Systems Bioengineering Program are devoted to acquire and interpret quantitative knowledge of biological processes using systems-level approaches, and to use this knowledge to control and act upon cells and their environment. To achieve this vision, the SBE program employs an interdisciplinary approach combining cell and molecular systems biology, synthetic biology, computational and mathematical modeling, biophysics, biomaterials, and nanobiomedicine.
