The students of the degree of Biomedical Engineering at UPF have organized the Biomedical Engineering UPF Congress, in which they will present their Bachelor thesis. It will be held from 15th to 17th July and due to the COVID-19 situation, the event will take place virtually through Collaborate platform.

It will be an open event that will bring together people interested in biomedical topics: students, researchers, professors, and entrepreneurs. It is an opportunity to see the latest developments in the area of biomedical engineering. The conference will touch on almost all areas within the world of biomedical engineering with ground-breaking proposals always based on scientific rigour but and at the same time very comprehensible.

The keynote speakers will be Juanjo Villanueva, CEO at Ekiter, and Jordi Naval, CEO at Biocat, with talks about the development of a company and the keys to bio-entrepreneurship in the life sciences.

The students will present their projects on different sessions according to the different thesis topics. All of them will be chaired by professors from the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences (DCEXS) and the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC) and also a scientist from the Innovation-UPF Business Shuttle Unit.

The students have also launched the Youtube channel “Biotech talks” where they have posted short videos explaining the topic of each bachelor thesis and the impact that the Covid-19 has had on the development of their bachelor projects.
