The preliminary program and the registration form for the Campus Gutenberg-CosmoCaixa 2019 of Scientific Communication and Culture are now available. This year we celebrate the ninth edition with a creative and innovative program, made up of more than 50 activities. We have the participation of top professionals who will share their knowledge and experiences with us in workshops, work spaces, debates, round tables, micro-cocktails, shows, etc.

Among other topics, the Campus will be opened with a “Communication in Action” exercise on climate emergency, in which the teenagers of Fridays for Future will talk with representatives of the business world, assisted by professionals in scientific communication. Other topics such as big-data and scientific communication, business communication of research and innovation or affective-sexual diversity in science will also be discussed. Between the programming of the workshops, we include one of design in science communication, another on guerrilla techniques for emergency dissemination etc. An experimental space, called “Babel of Scientific Communication” will test our ability to make us understand in 5 languages without the need for translation (Galician, Italian, Catalan, English and Spanish).

The campus will take place on September 16th and 17th in Barcelona at CosmoCaixa. We encourage you to sign up, registration is free! You can do it through this form.

The Campus Gutenberg-CosmoCaixa is an initiative dedicated to scientific communication and culture, promoted by the Master in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication (UPF Barcelona School of Management) and the “la Caixa” Banking Foundation, in collaboration with the Center for Studies of Science, Communication and Society of the Pompeu Fabra University (CCS-UPF), the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication (ACCC), the Spanish Association of Scientific Communication (AECC) and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

This conference has become a space for debate, critical reflection, co-creation and exchange of ideas, which offers participants an excellent opportunity to learn and explain. It is the place to share initiatives, experiences, doubts and proposals in the environment of scientific dissemination. Our objective is based on promoting the different channels and formats used in journalism, communication and dissemination of science, as well as reflecting on the changes that are taking place and the new strategies to be followed.
