UPF remains among the best 150 universities in the world in the clinical, pre-clinical and health fields, according to Times Higher Education

UPF is in the 126-150 bracket of the World University Rankings 2019 by Subject in this area, only surpassed in Spain by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and it continues to be ranked among the top sixty institutions in Europe.

UPF remains in second place among the institutions of Spain with regard to the clinical, pre-clinical and health fields, according to the World University Rankings 2019 by Subject: clinical, pre-clinical and health, following its inclusion in this prestigious classification in the last edition.

Times Higher Education has recently published this ranking that places Pompeu Fabra University in the 126-150 bracket (last year it was in the 101-125 bracket), with an overall score of 47.9-49.8 points, putting UPF within the top sixty in Europe.

UPF is in the 126-150 bracket of the ranking, and remains among the top sixty in Europe

In this 2019 edition, the classification has expanded to include 721 universities (220 more than last year), 29 of which are in Spain.

On a State level, UPF has only been surpassed by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (68th position) and is preceded by the universities of Barcelona (151-175 bracket) and Navarra (176-200).

This ranking by fields of knowledge uses the same weighting system as the general THE ranking based on thirteen performance indicators from five major areas, in which UPF, with the involvement of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and of the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences, has obtained the following scores: Citations (79.1), Transfer (48.8), International outlook (66.6), Research(23.4) and Teaching (27.4).

The University of Oxford, at the forefront for the eighth successive year

The classification in the clinical, pre-clinical and health fields highlights leading universities in medicine, dentistry and other health-related subjects. The University of Oxford tops the rankings for the eighth year in a row, and Harvard holds onto its second place which it shared last year with Cambridge, now third. The only University among the ten from outside the United Kingdom and the USA is the University of Melbourne (Australia), in the ninth position.

Other classifications of the Times Higher Education Ranking by Subject 2019 published recently, and in which Pompeu Fabra University appears, are Business and Economics (57th position), Arts and Humanities (126-150 bracket) and Social Sciences (also in the 126-150 bracket), in addition to 135th position in the general ranking.
