Concepts and Practice of Responsible Research and Innovation is the new massive open online course (MOOC) offered by UPF. Its aim is to introduce the concept of responsible research and innovation (RRI) and teach how to put it into practice.

RRI is a concept that involves the need to align research, development and innovation (R&D&I) with society to respond to its needs, values and expectations. The course will allow participants to find out about its history and discuss and compare the different approaches and concepts. It will also provide them with tools to discover how to apply this concept to their work or studies and the opportunity to put it into practice in a role simulation exercise.

The course, which starts on 26 February and lasts six weeks (until 9 April), will be given from the Canvas platform. Registrations are already open to everyone, and it is particularly interesting for people linked to higher education institutions or research projects.

Behind the MOOC is the European project, HEIRRI (Higher Education Institutions & Responsible Research and Innovation), led by the Science, Communication and Society Studies Centre at UPF (CCS-UPF), in the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences (DCEXS). Gema Revuelta, coordinator of HEIRRI and director of CCS-UPF, and Núria Saladié, project manager of HEIRRI and member of CCS-UPF, will be the teachers in charge of giving the course.
