The School of Molecular and Theoretical Biology, Inc., organizes, in collaboration with UPF and the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), the School of Molecular and Theoretical Biology (SMTB ), which receives support from the Zimin Foundation in Russia. From 2 to 17 August, 80 students from different countries and backgrounds participate in a research project at one of the 14 laboratories that the University and the CRG make available for the occasion.
The young people begin with three days of discovery, in which they get to know the different research groups and laboratories. They then choose the scientific project in which they are most interested in participating.
Although the School of Molecular and Theoretical Biology is a summer course, the scientific projects themselves continue beyond the summer. As the participants are fully integrated in the research laboratories, the young people remain involved and in touch with the progress of the research they began in summer. The testimonials of participants from past editions of the programme, as well as several papers published in scientific journals, bear witness to this integration and to the participants’ motivation.
The registration period is now closed.
