This is a work space that integrates different areas of journalistic communication, such as the written press, the Internet, radio and television. It is primarily aimed at students studying journalism.

Each space is independent but they can be used in conjunction with one another for certain practical work. Students experience each different stage to get an overall vision of the work of a journalist in each area.

 

News studio

This studio has an approximate surface area of 46.76m2  and is for practical work related with lighting, sound recording, the creation of different sets and use of different decoration.

The following equipment can be found there:

  • Studio ENG cameras with triax

News studio control

This space has an approximate surface area of 28.28m2 and is used for recording the video and sound of the different cameras and microphones installed in the news studio. Users can also embed titles, videos and oversee the storyline.

  • 52" multi-screen for monitoring the generated signals
  • Digital mixing console
  • Master control (SDI)
  • Intercom
  • Camera control (RCP)

  • Teleprompter

News TV

This space has an approximate surface area of 59.49m2 and is for practical work related with the ingest of video, audio, speech and subsequent image editing. The storyline can also be completed and the texts sent to the teleprompter.

The following equipment and software can be found there:

  • 28 video editing and voice-over stations
  • AVID iNews INSTINCT editing software
  • AVID NEWSCUTTER ingest software
  • 6 digital P2 ingests

Radio news

This space has an approximate surface area of 55.88m2 and is for practical work related with the ingest of audio, speech and subsequent audio editing. The storyline can also be completed to be sent to the radio control room.

The following equipment and software can be found there:

  • 28 audio editing and voice-over stations
  • DALET editing software with 28 ingests
  • 2 radio control rooms measuring approximately 11.30m2 with:
    • DALET software
    • AEQ mixing console
    • 2 broadcasting booths measuring approximately 10.96m2 with 5 desktop microphones and 5 sets of headphones

Press news

This space has an approximate surface area of 51.63m2 and is for practical work related with the layout of news content in printed format.
